Blogger’s Block

“What are you going to do when you run out of stuff to blog about?”
I’m guessing most bloggers have been asked this question, or a similar one. It was one of the first questions out of my wife’s mouth when I told her about my blog. And it was a question Leo Bottary fielded from a friend a long time ago.
Leo recently wrote about his 50th post and listed some of his personal survival tricks for avoiding the contagious and debilitating blogger’s block. Some of my favorite Leo tips include the Seinfeld approach, in which common issues are poked fun at, and the valuable lessons from fictional characters model, which Leo executed brilliantly in his famous Uncle Rico on Client Service post.
Here are a few of my favorite cures for blogger’s block:
- Gratuitous YouTube video embedding (example)
- Top 10 lists (example)
- Music samplers (example)
- Links of the day, week, month, year, leap-year (example)
- Experiential (example)
